Haeger & Carlsson Executive Search and Interim supports Diamyd Medical in the recruitment of a Medical Engagement Manager. This is a unique opportunity to join a Medical Affairs team in a role where you will combine scientific thinking with hands‑on project leadership and external engagement. As Medical Engagement Manager, you will play a key role in driving and executing a wide range of medical projects and initiatives. This is a highly collaborative and operational role where you will support planning and execution of conferences and other engagement events, produce scientific materials, and work closely with internal teams, investigators, KOLs and digital opinion leaders. You will take ownership of projects from concept to delivery, working both strategically and hands‑on to ensure professional execution. The role reports to Medical Affairs Director and offers strong growth potential. The Medical Engagement Manager will help execute on the company’s scientific strategy, ensuring the medical activities are compliant, ethical and evidence based.

Diamyd Medical develops precision medicine therapies for the prevention and treatment of type 1 diabetes. The investigational flagship product retogatein is a disease-modifying antigen-specific immunotherapy for the preservation of endogenous insulin production that has Orphan Drug and Fast Track designation by the U.S. FDA. DIAGNODE-3, a confirmatory Phase 3 trial is ongoing in patients with recent-onset type 1 diabetes in eight European countries and in the U.S. A biomanufacturing facility is being set up in Umeå for the manufacture of retogatein. Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development, review, and updating of medical education materials ensuring clear communication of complex scientific content.
  

• Support the execution of the Medical Affairs plan and maintain relationships with investigators, key opinion leaders, researchers and other collaborators.
  

• Assist in advisory board planning and follow‑up.
  

• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of conference participation, including logistics, exhibitor activities, social events, and on‑site scientific engagement by representing the company.
  

• Contribute to identifying, engaging, and collaborating with digital opinion leaders to strengthen scientific reach and engagement.
  

• Assist with coordination and implementation of Investigator Initiated Studies, Real‑World Evidence projects, and other medical initiatives in collaboration with Clinical Development.
  

• Lead and execute medical projects from concept to delivery, ensuring structure, timelines, communication and high‑quality results.
  

• Work closely with internal stakeholders across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development and other teams to ensure alignment and seamless project execution.
  

Experience and qualifications

• Scientific degree: MD, Pharmacist/PharmD, PhD or MSc (required).
  

• Strong ability to interpret and clearly communicate complex scientific information.
  

• Proven organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  

• A proactive, hands‑on “doer” with a collaborative, action‑oriented mindset.
  

• Industry experience from biotech, pharma, or another relevant life science environment is highly meriting.
  

• Experience or research background in metabolism, immunology, or diabetes is considered a plus.
  

• Demonstrated knowledge of ethical and compliance frameworks in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors is regarded as an asset.
  

• Prior experience in event management, scientific communication, or marketing is meriting.
  

• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English; Swedish is a plus.
  

• Good IT skills; proficiency in MS Office. Experience with image or video design tools is considered valuables.
  

• Willingness and ability to travel within Europe and occasionally to the US (several times per year).

Location: The role is preferably based at the company’s headquarters in central Stockholm.
